Fenn Wright lifts face of Colchester High Street
Over the last 18 months, Fenn Wright has been transforming each of its estate agency branches
with a bold new style that is designed to appeal to 21st century house hunters.
This project is the final part of an exciting journey to transform the design of all seven of their
offices as part of the firms overhaul of its brand and marketing communications. The
transformation of each site has been project managed by Fenn Wright’s own surveyors who
specialise in re-working spaces for business use.
Established in 1768, Fenn Wright has been in Colchester forever! They have another branch and
head office in Stanway and employ around 60 people in the town.
Graham Buxton, a partner and head of the residential sales team based at the High Street
branch, explains: “To me, the new look branches feel like a cross between a shop, a nice hotel
lobby and a coffee bar. They are inviting, pleasant places to linger and are not what people have
come to expect from an estate agency office.
“Fenn Wright wanted to get away from the old style of estate agency where desks made a barrier
between us and visitors. The new look will mean people who pop in will be greeted by a wide-open
space and stylish Avi chairs in apple green, rather than rows of people at their desks, ready to
pounce.
“The new bright space and window displays are designed to draw in buyers, sellers and landlords
and encourage conversation. We want to be able to chat in a more relaxed environment.
It’s really important that estate agents listen to their clients and understand their unique needs,
and this is exactly what Fenn Wright is all about. There will be a glass fronted meeting room for
extra privacy and a lovely coffee bar with stools for those who prefer to talk over a coffee.
“The team in Colchester is really excited about this project because our branches finish
the remodelling project for Fenn Wright. We’ve already seen from the other launches that
this new concept really works and in the High Street we have the added benefit of being next
to the £30m re-development of Fenwick’s superb new destination store.”
Fenn Wright plan to take the wraps off the new High Street store front at Christmas-time. Until then
the branch is still open for business as usual, with a smaller, temporary office on site.
